Metal wire cages are common supporting equipment for filter bags in baghouses. Collaboration between filter bag and cage is fundamental for consistent filtration and long living filter bags and proper cleaning from the Jet pulse system.
In Astrofil we have the ability to manufacture cylindrical cages of diameter from Φ: 60mm to Φ: 250mm and of length from 200mm up to 9000mm. Our cages are produced from coated hard Steel or INOX steel, in our facilities under strict regulations, delivering a reliable product which protects your filter bags from unnecessary strain and injuries.
Cages (supporting object):
Astrofil produces, since 1987, every type of cages for bag houses, either for new installations or for old bag houses in need. Cages are 100% manufactured in our facilities, where strict quality control, ensures the reliability of our final product.
We are able to manufacture every type of cage according to our customer needs. We manufacture cylindrical, envelop, square, rhomboid, cassette type cages or based to sketches of our customer.
We have the know-how to deal with every demanding structure and we are able to suggest materials of special features, if needed.
Cylindrical, rhomboid and square type cages are produced in diameter from Φ: 60mm up to 250mm and up to 9000mm length.
Distance between rings varies from 100 mm to 310mm.
Cages are made by elongated wires of 3mm to 5mm thickness (most commonly used Φ:4mm) and they number 4 to 24 wires per piece.
For Cassete type 2-4 wires are used

For cage manufacturing we use high quality hard and durable processed metals like:
- Stainless steel (inox) 316
- Stainless steel (inox) 316Ti
- Stainless steel (inox) 304
- Stainless steel (inox) 309
- Steel: Following their manufacturing and quality control comes washing, phosphating and electrostatic non epoxy painting, which is then polymerized at 220ο
Every cage carries system for the proper suspension of filter bags , venturi nozzle for the acceleration of cleaning pulse, bottom and cap. Venturi nozzles can be either detachable or not from cage’s cap.
Cage’s Bottoms and caps
The bottom and cap of each cage are made from the metal used for the cage. Their design, extrusion and further processing are done, in our facilities by our well trained staff and specialized technological equipment.
Our bottoms’ design makes the maintenance, easier, by helping the filter bag detach and slide from the cage without effort.
For the proper attachment of the caps and bottoms to the wire made cages, special pressing machines are used. This procedure is made with outmost care so that the assembled cage doesn’t hurt or strain the filter bag with edges or slivers.
It’s also crucial that venturi nozzles are homocentric with the cage so that the pulse is cleaning properly. Caps also allow the proper handling of the cage’s weight from the perforated plate.
Venturi nozzle is part of the cylindrical cages. Its assembly varies according to the cage design.
There are four types of nozzles at your disposal.
- 100mm height
- 350mm height
- 230mm height
- 180mm height
Venturi nozzle through its design accelerates the compressed air pulse, enabling it to clean the filter bag all the way to the end. Our nozzle design lets the jet pulse system keep clean, even the area close to the top of the filter bag.
Nozzle’s diameter and height are carefully selected according to the Jet pulse cleaning system needs and proper function.
Split cages are preferred when the length can be a nuisance during the transport or the installation of the cages. Assembly is easy and done in a way that protects the filter bag while being sturdy and reliable.
